Characteristics Of PVC Film

PVC film has the following characteristics:

Physical properties: The thickness of PVC film is usually between 0.08 and 0.2 mm, and those greater than 0.25 mm are called PVC sheets. Its density is relatively high, about 1.3 g/cm³, and the coverage area of the same thickness and weight is about 2/3 to 3/4 of that of polyethylene film.

Processing technology: PVC film is made of polyvinyl chloride resin as the basic raw material, with plasticizers and stabilizers added, and is made through a calendering process. This process makes the film soft and easy to shape, and easy to repair after tearing.

Optical properties: The new PVC film has a high light transmittance, can effectively block far infrared rays, and has better thermal insulation performance at night than polyethylene film. In addition, the anti-fog effect of PVC film is excellent. When there is water condensation on the surface, dew will not form on the surface of the film, but a uniform water film will be formed, which increases the light transmittance.

Weather resistance and aging: PVC film is resistant to high temperature and aging, but it will become hard and brittle at low temperatures and soften and relax at high temperatures. As the use time increases, the plasticizer will gradually precipitate, resulting in a decrease in light transmittance and the adsorption of dust due to static electricity.

‌Environmental protection and application‌: PVC film is not easy to degrade and has poor environmental protection. It will decompose hydrogen chloride gas at high temperatures, which is toxic to the human body. Its application range includes external covering materials for greenhouses, sheds and small and medium-sized sheds, as well as use in winter production of fruits and vegetables in solar greenhouses‌.
